The Crow – Trade Paper Back version – part 2

The crow. A bird that is said to have Mystical powers and direct links to the afterlife. Sometimes when one loves another their bond can go beyond the mortal bindings of death. This means that soul cannot pass peacefully on to the next life. The crow that carries the soul is binded to the mortal world until all the wrongs of the soul have been righted.

This is the comic book series that started it all.

The Crow is a comic book series created by James O’Barr. The series was originally written by O’Barr as a means of getting over his girlfriend’s death at the hands of a drunk driver. It was later published in 1989, and became an underground success, with some movie studios seeking the rights to adapt it to film. It was adapted into a film in 1993 starring Brandon Lee, spawned three sequels, and a television series have also been made.

The first four issues were published by Caliber in 1989, and are collectors items now, because they are very hard to find. Tundra publishing released the conclusion in 1992 and Kitchen Sink Press followed with the graphic novel containing a more complete story with previously unpublished material. Definitely a must own for any true fan of The Crow.

Due to length and the limitations of some web browsers, we have broken up the Trade Paper Back into three posts, in a way mimicking the Tundra reprints which combined the first and second Caliber issues, and combined the third and fourth Caliber issues, printing the new final issue separate.
